CRTD Odisha FAQ
The idea originated in **2013** when a group of **IITTM-qualified Eco Guides** identified ground-level challenges in rural Odisha. Following the vision of Founder/Secretary **Lalit Mohan Panda**, the organization was formally registered in **2019** under the Societies Registration Act, 1860.
CRTD works in close collaboration with four specialized sister organizations:
- Tourist Guide Club
- Arachandi Pakhi Surakhya Samiti
- Odisha Jagannath Darshan
- Odisha Snake Helpline
We have explored several prehistoric and natural sites in the **Cuttack District**, including:
- Pandav Bhakara Rock Shelter & Anahyata Cave (Banki)
- Arachandi Wetland (Banki)
- Dabarkhole Waterfall (Badamba)
CRTD pioneered the **Flying Fox Monitoring Program** (the first of its kind in India) in Banki. We also conduct the **Weaver Bird Census**, **Common Bird Monitoring**, and **Migratory Bird Census** across nine wetlands.
We focus on **community-based sustainable tourism**. We conduct training and capacity-building programs for residents in areas like **Ansupa and Pandav Bhakara**, enabling them to earn a livelihood as local guides and conservationists.
